Kuwait Awqaf Ministry to contribute $1m for Lebanon

Kuwait sent on Friday food aid to the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
KUWAIT — Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Fahad Al-Afasy announced on Friday that the Kuwait Awqaf Secretatirat General is set to contribute $1 million to serve medical aid and supplies to Lebanese people. Al-Afasy told KUNA that this donation comes due to the instructions of the Deputy Emir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah after Beirut’s massive port blast. He also assured that the department’s main role is to lend a hand for harmed and affected people from several Islamic societies, expressing condolences to victims' families and wished all injured speedy recovery. In addition, Kuwait sent on Friday food aid to the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and industry said all aid was sent in cooperation with foreign and defense ministries including Kuwait’ss flour mills and bakeries. — Agencies
