'Dar Al-Qalam' calligraphy center named after Crown Prince

Saudi Gazette report MADINAH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has ordered renaming Dar Al-Qalam cultural center as Prince Muhammad Bin Salman International Center for Arabic Calligraphy, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday. The order to rename the center is based on Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Farhan request in appreciation of the efforts and continuous support of the Crown Prince for the Arabic calligraphy, culture, and intellectuals. The Ministry of Culture will supervise and develop the center in coordination with the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives to become a global platform for calligraphy and calligraphers from different countries of the world. The center contains a museum, exhibition and institute of Arabic calligraphy. It also includes a meeting place for Arab and Muslim calligraphers. Dar Al-Qalam center is planned to turn into a leading global center for Arabic calligraphy, asserting the Kingdom's pioneering position as the supporter for Arabic calligraphy and calligraphers. The Dar Al-Qalam Center was opened in 2013 in Madinah to teach Arabic calligraphy and the new name of the center, and the Kingdom vision 2030 reflects the unlimited support by the leadership to it.
