BERLIN — Third division Karlsruher SC beat Hamburger SV 4-2 to knock the Bundesliga side out of the German Cup in the first round Sunday. Fourth-tier side Wormatia Worms provided another upset with a 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin, which was relegated from the Bundesliga last season. On the hottest day of the year in much of Germany, Bundesliga side Hannover beat Noettingen 6-1, and second division side 1860 Munich thrashed another fifth-tier side, Hennef, 6-0 to progress. Fourth-tier TSV Havelse drew 2-2 with top division side Nuremberg to force the game into extra time. — AP
