9-year-old drowns in swimming pool

AL-ARTAWIYA — A nine-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool in Al-Artawiya town in Riyadh. Civil Defense rescuers found the kid lifeless at the bottom of the pool. The victim’s father said his son was a good swimmer and couldn’t understand how he had drowned. Investigators suspect foul play. The victim’s friends were detained for questioning. — SG
