Last updated: Friday, August 03, 2012 1:36 AM

JEDDAH – Jeddah Police detectives busted a gang that forced 13 children to beg on the city’s streets. The children, all under the age of 10, were trafficked into the Kingdom a few months ago. After keeping a close eye on the children who were begging inside malls and at traffic lights in Al-Safa and Al-Baghdadiyah neighborhoods, police raided the house the children went to at the end of the day, said First Lt. Nawaf Al-Bouq, spokesman for Jeddah Police. “These kids were able to get SR5,000 a day for the gang. They would give the money to the gang members who would then send a small portion back to the children’s families in their home country.”
