Daniel’s bid to impress Kathryn in vain

MANILA, Philippines — Young heartthrob Daniel Padilla joined the basketball tournament at the recent Star Magic Games with but one aim: to impress Kathryn Bernardo.

Padilla made this admission to reporters attending the games saying that “Gusto ko magpa-cool.”

Sadly though, the gimmick failed, inasmuch as the presence of Bernardo made the usually laid back 17-year old more nervous than usual.

“Hindi gumana,” he said pertaining to an attempt he made at the three point line that missed its mark.

Nonetheless, Padilla enjoyed the tournament admitting that he had been looking forward to be part of it since day one.

“Masaya po talaga,” he reiterated.

The sentiment was echoed by Bernardo when interviewed at the same event.

“Siyempre ibang-iba yung bonding namin dito compared du’n sa kapag nasa taping kami ng ‘Princess And I.’ Dito sa sports fest magchi-cheer kayo.

‘Yung mga kaibigan mo makakasama mo. Kulitan lang. Siyempre kapag taping hindi ganon dahil most of the time naka-focus kayo sa paggawa ng eksena,” explained the 16-year old girl.

Bernardo admitted to missing Padilla’s game early on due to an interview, but that she made an effort to catch a few minutes of it later that day.

Bernardo didn’t join any of the games but she was the muse for the Red Team together with Julia Montes.

In an earlier interview with Showbiz Inside Report, she admitted to being quite “close” with Padilla. — Agencies
