JEDDAH — Asian Plastic Factory had the last laugh against mighty Crown Steel, Zultec went down against My Care and Hala, while AOT GFC thrashed IDB in the WPCA Summer Premier here recently.
The Summer Morning tournament saw Al-Mazroi continue its winnings streak, Al–Saudi edged Orbital Horizon and AAA showed no sympathy toward QRCC.
The first match saw AOT GFC bat first against IDB and rack up 204-8 in 20 overs. Main contributions came from Qaim Khan (48), Faiq Habib (35) and Zeeshan (30). Abdul Jabbar took 3-35 and Yasir 2-37 with a wicket each falling to Ijaz, Ramazan and Abdullah Shah. IDB, in reply, was restricted to 121-7, thereby losing by 83 runs. Khalid Butt made 35 and Abdullah Shah 19. Imran Yusuf grabbed 2-18, Faiq Habib 2-20 and Zeeshan 2-35.
The second match saw Asian Advanced Plastic Factory (APF) opt to bat first. The openers, skipper, Nadeem Amin compiled 54 (9x4s) and Wajahat Shah 57 (7x4s). Nadeem remained unbeaten on 32. Abid Naseem grabbed 2-25 as a wicket each fell to Hammad Saeed and Aftab Khan. Crown Steel began the chase in a cavalier fashion, putting on 47 in 18 balls. It, however, lost the momentum and fell to 135-5 before closing at 181-9. Waheed top scored with 54, Aftab Khan hit 21, Shafeeq 20 and Hammad Saeed 19. Arshad Chaudhry grabbed 3-27, Abdulqayyum 3-41 and Murtaza 2-33.
Zultec took the strike first against My Care & Hala and was bowled out for 145. Hussain Bhatti took 3-15, Umar 3-21 and Waqas 3-25 as one scalp went to Yasir. Farooq was the only one to put up some resistance. He scored 48.
Afaq added 20. My Care & Hala, in reply, was home (149-3) with seven wickets in hand and 15 balls to spare. Kasheef Shafeeq hammered 61 and Waheed 52. A wicket each was claimed by Javed Iqbal, Samer and Afaq.
In the Morning Summer tournament Arabian Auto Agency (AAA) beat QRCC by 17 runs. Batting first, it made 147-5 with skipper Naveed Nawaz scoring 47, Sadiq Memon 39 and Abdulrauf 23. Yasir took 2-26 and Saleem Shaikh 2-30. QRCC could score only 130.
In another match Orbital Horizon, batting first against Al-Saudi, posted 160-7. Tahir smashed 50, Ashfaq 43 and Kashif 30, while Nazeer Farooqui scalped 3-15. Al-Saudi, in reply, was home (161-4) with Naveed making 44, Ghayour 42 and Nazeer Farooqui 35. Saifi grabbed 2-40.
Another match saw Al-Mazroi-XI opt to bat first and rack up 182-9 against Sana Sports. Faisal hit 36, Farook 35, while Sufiyan and Faizan scored 17 each. Imran took 3-26, Haroon 2-27 and Javed 2-28. Sana Sports was left stranded at 152-9 after 18 overs. Adnan made 38, while Khaleel Dawood scalped 2-25 and Faizan 2-29.
