Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah, washed the holy Ka’ba with Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais. — SG/SPA

 

On behalf of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah, washed the holy Ka’ba, Thursday. The Emir is seen doing the Tawaf along with Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, chief of the General Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques (second right) and Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, OIC Secretary General (extreme right). A number of Muslim scholars, government officials, dignitaries and diplomats attended the event, which takes place twice a year: in Shaban (the month preceding the fasting month of Ramadan) and in Muharram. — SG/SPA
