Housemaid escapes with SR20,000

RIYADH — A housemaid has been accused of stealing SR20,000 from her female employer and running away, Riyadh police said Wednesday.

The Saudi woman, who did not want her name revealed, filed a complaint with Riyadh police and a search for the maid is underway.

The Ethiopian maid had worked in the household for more than a year and there was nothing suspicious about her behavior, the woman told the police. When she returned home one day, she discovered the maid had escaped with the money she had kept in her room.
