400,000 cases of water wastage in Riyadh

Last updated: Thursday, June 14, 2012 9:32 AM
Water stagnates on a road in an upscale Riyadh locality. Over the last one year, the National Water Company has registered over 400,000 cases of water wastage in Riyadh and Jeddah.

Most of the cases had to do with the way people use drinking water to wash cars and courtyards. The company is planning to sign a deal with Holland-based Unilever Company for Industrial Development Ltd. to develop a program to encourage efficient use of water. — SPA
