Holidays are just around the corner and those of you who are not traveling this summer will probably be getting bored this summer and wasting precious time eating, sleeping and watching TV.
Although summer holidays are for mental and physical relaxation, it is also the perfect time to discover and hone new skills. So, this week we went around town gathering information as to where summer camps were being held for young children.
Summer camps do not only help you develop your skills out also make new friends. Don’t consider summer camps as boring because they are not, instead they are interesting and fun. You may have to strictly follow the timings but once you are there you won’t even know when time will fly. However, for those of you who are weak in a subject can always opt for coaching classes for improvement and regularly attend and be attentive.
Get up in front of your television screen and go register yourself in a course that you are interested in and have been waiting for a long time to do it, but of course your daily hectic school routine doesn’t give you a lot of breathing space.
A few summer camps for you to look out for are:
Enchanted Garden

It is a place where children can continue to gain and express their knowledge, as well as develop and increase their self confidence.” The Enchanted Garden’s summer program presents opportunities for creative stimulation, intellectual exploration and physical challenge, both in English and Arabic, in a happy and progressive atmosphere. The camp provides a place for children to explore the world themselves and widen their horizons.

The program includes Qur’an, Arabic, mannerisms through dramatic play, physical fitness, dance, arts and crafts, story telling, puppet show, creative writing book club, and drama in English, and professional photography.
Jeddah Grammer School
Jeddah Grammar School is organizing not one but two programs under its wings – summer program and Ramadan program.
Faiza Aziz, Director of the camp, said, “The camp is for ten weeks; each week has been planned with new and creative ideas that will enable children to develop their skills in many different aspects, from social interactive sessions to learning about creatures of the deep.”
Aziz said it is different from other summer camps because each session will involve critical development of the children. She said the sessions will be so interesting that by the end of the camp the children will forget the basic meaning attached to boredom.
Aziz further said that educational programs for children above 10 years of age will enhance their personality and improve their perspective toward life.
The basic sessions offered will be related to enhancing motivation, learning, and concentration; how to deal with conflicts, frustration, anxiety and panic attacks during exams; how to deal with depression and stress; how to build positive self image and many others.
