SPECTRA 2012 was a success among students and teachers

SPECTRA 2012, the two-day educational exhibition themed ‘One step beyond vision’ got off to a colourful start at Prof. Rasheeduzzfar Hall in the girls campus of International Indian School,Dammam. 

Awad Al Maliki, Deputy Director of Foreign and Private Education from the Ministry of Education, inaugurated the event Wednesday. Chairman of the School Managing Committee Thirunavukkarassu, Supervisor Khalid Al Ruwaie, Ministry of Education, Member of Managing Committee Raju Kurian, and Principal & Head of the Institution Dr. E K Mohammed Shaffe were present during the ceremony.

More than 300 exhibits were on display and over 1,000 students participated in the fair. The exhibits revealed the innovative and creative skills of the students covering all major subject areas - Science & Technology, IT and Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Humanities, Languages and Literatures, Commerce and Management, Biology and Bio-Technology, SUPW and Arts.

Special pavilions depicting Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil languages and cultures were major attractions in the fair. World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) also set up a special stall for Saudi Arabian Culture and Islamic Studies.
There was also a special show on “Dancing Waters, The Awesome Deep” portraying the deep marine life.

An Organizing Committee under Thirunavukkarassu, Shaffe, Principal & HOI as Vice Patron and Lt Col J A Rocque, Principal Incharge (girls section) as Chief Co-ordinator managed the event.

Various subcommittees under Dhanalaxmi Ramanujam, Headmistress – GSS; Tasneem Munir Ahmed, Headmistress, GMS;  Memoona Tabassum, Headmistress, UPGS; and  Padmaja Chandran, Headmistress, Prep Section, worked hard to make the event a success. — SG
