Woman found dead in underground cistern

MAKKAH
— Makkah police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of a 70-year-old woman whose body was found in an underground cistern. Police say the woman’s son reported the death after he woke up in the morning and was unable to find her in the house. The son went outside and discovered his mother’s body floating in the underground cistern used to collect water for the house. The body was transferred to King Faisal Hospital. — SG
