Patrol car damaged in Al-Awamiyah attack

JEDDAH — A security patrol, which was carrying out a task on a street in the Eastern Province town of Awamiyah, was fired upon early Sunday morning.

The patrol vehicle and a civilian’s car were damaged in the machine-gun fire by an unidentified gunman at around 1.30 P.M. None of the drivers or passengers were hurt.

Capt. Muhammad Shaar Al-Shihri, a spokesman for the Eastern Province police, said the incident was still being investigated.
