Charred body of Asian woman found after fire

JEDDAH — Jeddah police are investigating the death of an Asian woman whose charred body was discovered in the room of a two-story building that caught on fire. Jeddah Civil Defense dispatched firefighters to the building located in Al-Aziziya District.
 

“Preliminary investigations showed that the fire started in a room on the roof,” said Lt. Col. Saeed Sarhan, Civil Defense spokesman.

After battling the blaze, firefighters made their way into the building and discovered the body. No one else was found inside the room. Police are trying to determine the source of the fire to rule out any possibility of foul play.
