No Hijab, no training for students in France

Last updated: Sunday, May 27, 2012 3:00 PM

HAIL — The French government’s decision to ban all “conspicuous religious symbols” including the hijab in schools and other public institutions in France has come to affect female students at Hail University after the university’s administration decided against sending female students to a public university in France for summer training, Al-Watan daily reported.

The head of Hail University said in a special statement that despite an agreement signed between the two universities, the administration had decided against sending its female students there on account of the country’s laws against the hijab. — SG
