Saudi Gazette
MAKKAH – Six civil defense teams succeeded in dousing a fire in a 16-story hotel at Al-Misfalah District here Monday. According to Col. Ali Al-Muntashiri, Makkah Civil Defense spokesman and director of investigations, the fire started due to an electric short-circuit which started in the air-conditioning of the building’s elevator.
The teams successfully evacuated 465 Pakistani Umrah pilgrims with no reports of injuries.
