JEDDAH – There is a lack of understanding and trust between the media and the Ministry of Education, said Faiza Oun, an official of the ministry, at a leaders’ seminar for educators in Jeddah Sunday.
She noted that some elements in the media continue publishing negative news about education while ignoring the efforts undertaken by the ministry. Oun was speaking to Saudi Gazette during the First Education Leaders Seminar in Jeddah on Sunday.
More than 600 professionals in education from both genders attended the seminar.
A number of school principals called for more authority from the ministry, but Oun countered by asking them to evaluate their own performances before asking for more authority.
