DUBAI — Rising Yemeni singer Belqees Ahmed Fathi says she will soon work with Prince Bandar Bin Fahd Bin Khaled, who is a poet and composer. Belqees said she admires her father’s history but wants to build her own music career. She said her father helped her start off on the right foot.
The Yemeni singer said she knows what she wants and is working on it slowly. She said that her fans will love her upcoming album on which she collaborated with famous composers and poets. She did not give details on when the songs will be released. Belqees believes that her singing at Prince Bandar Bin Abdul Mohsin’s honorary ceremony, held in Doha a few months ago, has added a lot to her career. She sang in a ceremony attended by famous Arab singers like Abadi Al-Jawhar, Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, Asala, Majed Al-Mohandes and others. — SG
