JEDDAH — The Twitter and Facebook accounts of Abdu Khal, a famous Saudi author and winner of the 2010 International Prize for Arabic Fiction, was recently compromised by unknown hackers. Fans of Khal criticized the attacks and described these as cowardly acts by people with weak minds who cannot accept differences of opinion. Fans were warned against interacting with Khal’s Twitter and Facebook accounts. — SG
