Hospital reinstates fired staff

By Ali Hawash
Saudi Gazette
MAKKAH – The 16 medical consultants who protested Saturday against Bakhsh Private Hospital here for alleged unfair termination from work have been reinstated.
Saudi Gazette reported Sunday that the doctors who were fired without prior notice had called upon the Labor Office to intervene. The hospital was sold last week and problems began as the new management decided to bring in swift changes.
The hospital’s new management took them back on the condition that it will renew the contracts only of those staff that it chooses. The management has also offered them the option of finding alternative employment and transferring their sponsorship. Most of the reinstated staff appreciated the offer, while others decided to file a case in the Makkah Labor Office against termination of their contracts before the due period.
