RIYADH – Hundreds of young men and women were surprised when they went to King Fahd Cultural Center Thursday to attend the TEDxNajd Conference and found the center’s doors closed. The conference, which was going to host important speakers from the fields of media, law, economics and sociology was canceled. The conference organizers told Al-Hayat Arabic daily that they obtained all the necessary permits to hold the conference. They later apologized for not being able to attend.Famous media experts were supposed to participate in the conference and talk about new ideas that can influence and develop individuals, families and society. -SG
