DAMMAM – The Eastern Province Mayoralty seized 4.6 tons of rotten meat from restaurants and other eateries last year, said Muhammad Al-Sufian, director of public relations, EP Mayoralty. He said the department of environmental health and the municipalities conduct widespread and surprise inspections at the behest of Dhaifallah Al-Otaibi, EP Mayor, Al-Riyadh Arabic daily reported, Friday. “Public health is our number one concern. Violators of health standards will be punished severely.” He urged the public to cooperate with the mayoralty and other municipalities and report any violation on the emergency toll-free number 940. -SG
