Filming starts on Al-Sultana TV series in Beirut

RIYADH — Amirah Muhammad, the Bahraini actress, has started filming on the Al-Sultana television series, a major new drama, in Beirut. Over 130 Gulf actors and actresses are participating in the series which is about an affluent and domineering woman surrounded by friends and enemies who are after her wealth.
Throughout the series, the Al-Sultana character works hard to protect and maintain her social status using all means necessary. Some of the scenes, in which Muhammad Shams Adeen, Mr. Lebanon, participated, were shot in Beirut, Paris and other countries.
Khalid Al-Rajhi, the Saudi producer, has tried to keep the characters of the series under wraps but it now appears he will be releasing more tidbits about the show, including the reason for using Mr. Lebanon.
Muhammad said this was the first series of its kind here. “There is no specific star in this series, in my opinion. I believe the stars are the entire cast. The director started shooting the first scenes in Beirut,” she added.
