Al-Haditha Customs foil smuggling bid

1.5m Captagon pills hidden in textile rolls seized
RIYADH – The Customs Department officers at Al-Haditha checkpoint have foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,565,000 Captagon narcotic tablets, Al-Jazirah reported Sunday.
Zayed Bin Attallah Al-Zayed, Director General of Al-Haditha Customs Department, said that a truck carrying textile rolls arriving at the checkpoint raised the suspicion. On inspecting the truck, the customs officer found a large cache of narcotic pills hidden inside 50 textile rolls, The pipes around which the textiles are rolled had been pulled out and the pills were stuffed instead in a skillful manner to avoid detection. — SG
