Books are a man’s best friend

The Riyadh International Book Fair has been such an immense success that it attracted visitors from all walks of life, including royalty.
Prince Turki Al-Faisal, chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, visited the Book Fair on Monday. While strolling in the children’s section, he said, “A good book is my friend that entertains me, keeps me company, and fortifies my knowledge.  A book can keep me up late at night, sometimes makes me cry, and sometimes makes me laugh. And under all circumstances, a book will never betray or disappoint me or destroy my aspirations.”
The prince named Riyadh the Education Capital of the Arab World.“Not a day passes by without witnessing an educational event or workshop organized by governmental agencies, or privately by Saudi citizens themselves. That is clear proof that educational issues are at the forefront of the interests and concerns of the Saudi people,” said Al-Faisal.
