Saudi official thanks Indian govt on removal of dumping duties

RIYADH — Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for Petroleum Affairs, has appreciated Indian government’s decision to cancel dumping duties imposed on Saudi exports of polypropylene product.
He pointed out that an investigation was opened by Indian authorities on Feb. 24, 2009 in the case of dumping of polypropylene product against SABIC; National Tasnie’ (Industrialization) Company; Mutaqadimah (Advanced) Petrochemical Company from the Kingdom, and against other companies from Oman and Singapore, indicating that anti-dumping duties were imposed according to these investigations.
Prince Abdul Aziz noted that after the formation of a Saudi team last year to follow up on the issue, efforts with the Indian side were intensified to end the case.
He expressed his thanks to the Indian side for their cooperation to resolve the issue satisfactorily to both parties. — SG/SPA
