KSA to uphold Salafism

RIYADH — Crown Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, patronized here Tuesday the opening ceremony of a symposium on “Salafism: Sharia-based Path and National Demand” organized by Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University.
“True Salafism is an approach that derives its provisions from the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah. This country is based on a moderate Salafi approach and is still following this approach,” Naif said.
“The symposium aims at clarifying this approach which has been subject to misconceptions such as Takfir, extremism and terrorism. We have a duty to refute suspicions towards this approach. Therefore, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques directed to hold this symposium.” — SG/SPA
