Al-Qaradawi to leaders: Follow King’s example

MAKKAH – Dr. Yusuf Abdullah Al-Qaradawi, President of the World Federation of Muslim Scholars, has called on Muslim leaders to take King Abdullah as an example to be followed for good leadership. He said the reforms initiated by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to raise the public standard of living underscore his concern for Saudi citizens.
He made the comments over a telephone call with Okaz/Saudi Gazette while attending the ceremony of the Grand Mosque expansion project on Friday night. “Undoubtedly, the unprecedented decisions reflect the King’s concern for his citizens. We hope this will become a reality in all the Muslim countries,” the world-renowned scholar said.
In reference to the expansion project, Al-Qaradawi said what has taken place in Makkah is a bounty from Allah. He said Allah has granted King Abdullah success in his vision for the future of Makkah and the holy sites.
