Jeddah District Society prepares four-year development strategy

JEDDAH – The Jeddah District Centers Society will link its plan for the next four years to Makkah region’s development strategy, according to a report from Al-Hayat Arabic daily. The aim is to ensure economic growth by having partnerships with various private and government bodies.
At its first Ramadan forum held recently in Jeddah, the society focused on the plan’s methodology.
Ibrahim Shiqdar, the forum’s director, said the aim is to develop the region’s human resources and produce a collective strategy that can be applied in all districts.
He said the General Secretariat of the society’s branch in Jeddah has worked out the basic issues that need to be tackled.
Shiqdar said, “The Society is just like any government, private or charitable society” in terms of its focus on economic development, in particular tourism.
He cited the society’s goals for the next four years including strengthening communication and performance, and training leaders. This is to ensure financial and administrative stability that will contribute to the efficiency of the society, he said. – SG
