Four confess to attacks on cab drivers

RIYADH – Four persons of Arab nationality have been arrested by police in the capital on charges of attacking, robbing and threatening to kill two taxi drivers in separate incidents in the districts of Granada and Al-Hamra. The first incident was reported to police by a Saudi man who saw a taxi driver with stab wounds in the chest and neck. His attackers had reportedly stolen all possession he had in his vehicle. A second taxi driver told police he had been attacked and robbed by a group who also stole his car to make their getaway. Police said that four persons had been arrested and had confessed to the charges. Investigations are continuing in order to establish the group’s connection to similar incidents in the capital. – Okaz/SG
