JEDDAH – An Asian lady has been brought before the District Court in Jeddah charged with performing magic in order to take revenge on her sponsor. The family that employed the lady told the court that they had found “large numbers of knots and threads scattered around the house and on clothes” and had also noticed the disappearance of certain objects. The female sponsor of the accused also reported “developing symptoms of an illness”, while one of their children “fell behind in his studies and refused to go school for no reason”. The family made an official report at Al-Nuzlatain Police Station and officers, after inspecting the house, detained the housemaid and found in her possession of artificial
flowers with traces of blood on them. The housemaid reportedly confessed that it was the blood of her sponsor which she had obtained “with the intention of harming her out of revenge”. – Okaz/SG
