Airport shooting over family argument

DAMMAM – A 27-year-old man greeting a friend at Dammam airport on Saturday turned from guest to foe as a “family dispute” ended with the former shooting his guest in the foot. Another shot missed its target. The man met his friend at the airport and helped him with his bags to the car, but before they set off the argument erupted, prompting Airport Police to surround the site of the shooting and restrain the aggressor. The injured traveler, who had arrived on a flight from Najran, was taken to hospital. An official said the offending weapon was licensed. – Okaz/SG
