JEDDAH – The Saudi Stars Team, a group of 11 young Brazilian coaches who have been enlisted to train Saudis in football, have extended their program this month to allow greater numbers to benefit from the scheme which seeks to promote discipline, work ethics and teamwork through football training. Emad Mugharbel, executive head of the project, described it as having “purely educational goals”. “The program is now running at several sites, such as KAUST where we welcome the children of staff and students of various nationalities, and at the ZJ Stadium in north Jeddah, in west Jeddah at the Al-Shams Club in Al-Zahraa’, as well as in Al-Jowhara in south Jeddah,” Mugharbel said. – Okaz/SG
