JEDDAH – Health inspectors from the Mayor’s Office in Jeddah have seized 7,000 cakes from a warehouse during inspections in the Al-Nazha District of the city. Workers at the site, some of whom were found to be residing in the Kingdom illegally, tried to flee when inspectors arrived, but after being detained and questioned they confessed to changing the date of expiry on numerous products, including beans and barley in addition to the thousands of cakes which were awaiting distribution. – Okaz/SG
