NSCSA widens its VLCC fleet

JEDDAH – The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) continued its fleet expansion this month with the delivery of a new vessel from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) in South Korea arabiansupplychain.com. said.
The 318,000DWT cargo ship is the fifth to be delivered from a March 2006 order for six VLCCs amounting to SR460 million per vessel.
The building of the remaining vessel is currently underway, with delivery scheduled for September 2009.
The company recently visited the US for the first time with a North America service, which connected Charleston to ports in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan and Italy. - SG
