No bilharziasis or malaria in Al-Baqra

BISHA – The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Bisha has denied reports warning of a spread of bilharziasis and malaria in Al-Baqra village in the Bisha region, saying that not a single case of either infliction has been recorded in the last two years. Health Affairs spokesman Abdullah Saeed Al-Ghamdi roundly denied the reports and added that a mere two cases of Leishmania have been reported this year, reflecting the effectiveness of pesticide spraying. Al-Ghamdi said a primary health care center was scheduled to open in the village in accordance with the country’s Five-Year Development Plan. – Okaz/SG
