JEDDAH: Several beggars and women indulging in prostitution were arrested in raids carried out by the Passports Department patrols in the undeveloped areas of the city on Tuesday.
Col. Abdul Kareem Al-Rouqi, who led the crackdown, had placed the localities under strict surveillance and after gathering enough information the places were raided in Al-Sabeel District in Ghulail.
The officers caught more than 34 Yemeni beggars and found huge amounts of money and fake medical reports in their possession.
Following this, the patrols headed to Al-Saheefa District in South Jeddah and busted a den of prostitutes and caught 20 Indonesian women with unrelated men.
Another patrol also succeeded in rounding up 50 male and female infiltrators who had sneaked illegally into the Kingdom from the southern borders.
