JEDDAH: The effect on the human mind of the scientific signs in the Qur’an is the main topic on the agenda of a meeting of the International Commission on Scientific Signs in the Qur’an and the Sunnah (Eajaz).
The meeting is the tenth international conference to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, in cooperation with the Center for Islamic Studies (ISAM), from March 11 to 14, 2011.
Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Musleh, Secretary General of Eajaz, said the conference will discuss several topics including medicine, astronomy, space, the earth and seas, and humanitarian sciences.
Through its conferences, Eajaz, an affiliate of the Muslim World League, seeks to show the greatness of the scientific signs in the Qur’an and Sunnah, and to spread Islamic teachings, Al-Musleh said.
The official said Eajaz is working on establishing rules to govern Ijtihad (the independent or original interpretation of problems not precisely covered by the Holy Qur’an and ?adi th), and revealing the meanings of verses in the Book of Allah and in the Ahadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), that are related to the universal sciences.
Established in 1983, the commission (Eajaz) has convened nine international conferences which saw a number of people converting to Islam.
