King orders SR1m paid to family of each martyr

RIYADH – King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has ordered the payment of SR1 million to the family of each martyr who fought against the infiltrators in Jizan.

In addition, each martyr will be promoted posthumously to a higher rank. Also, all their sons and brothers will be recruited into the military, according to the Royal order.

The announcement was made recently on behalf of the King by General Ibrahim Al-Malik, Director General of General Affairs at the Ministry of Defense and Civil Aviation.

He also announced that the King’s order is applicable to all officers and non-commissioned officers in the land, air and naval forces who participated in the war against the infiltrators.

Meanwhile, the land forces have strengthened their units with the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, which is used to transport troops to the battlefield. Soldiers can fight from the Bradley or leave the vehicle and fight on foot. Troops can maneuver beside the Bradley, using it as a shield, while the vehicle engages nearby targets with its 25mm cannon.

This type of vehicle is usually used in rough terrain.

It will now enable Saudi forces to chase and capture infiltrators in their mountainous hideouts. – SG
