RIYADH – King Saud University in Riyadh and King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals have been ranked 247 and 266 respectively in the Times Higher Education QS World University Rankings.
The rankings, released Thursday, saw King Saud University top the list for Arab world universities, with King Fahd University coming a close second.
Minister of Higher Education Khaled Al-Anqari said the two universities’ achievements sent a “clear signal to the world that higher education in the Kingdom receives the government’s full support”.
Al-Anqari said the Times QS University world ranking classification system measured nations’ development with indices including the financing of scientific research, quality of research facilities and infrastructure at university laboratories, the ability to attract respected professors and talented postgraduate students, and contribution to academic journals. – Okaz/SG
