There are stirrings of a new push for a diplomatic solution to the civil war in Syria which has already claimed more than 70,000 Syrian lives.

I am writing with regard to the article “The two-state solution is not dead” by Uri Avnery (May 11). When trying to answer the question of a one-state or two-state solution to the problems faced by Palestinians and Israelis, it might be useful to view the experience of Pakistan as a cautionary tale.

With regard to the report “More investment in health sector needed”(May 19), I would like to point out that doctors in private hospitals give unnecessary medicines to company patients.
