The report “Saudi women work as waiters in EP restaurant” (June 17) indicates that five Saudi women have taken jobs in the family section of an international restaurant as waitresses and cashiers. Kudos to these women.

With regard to the article “Grace period should be extended” (June 17), Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has already generously granted a three-month grace period for those who are residing and working in the Kingdom illegally.

I am writing with regard to the report “Highway rest stations need cleaning” (June 16). Anyone who travels to Makkah, Jeddah and Madinah is aware of the terrible condition of these highway rest stations.

With regard to the letter “Will dependent husbands be allowed to work?” (June 16), it should be noted that dependent husbands pay SR 500 toward renewal of their iqama annually just like other expatriates with work visas.
