With regard to the report “Khaled orders quick action on Jeddah sewage problem” (June 19), one of the most shameful aspects of Jeddah is the overflowing sewage and the amount of rats in the streets of the city, which is known as the Bride of the Red Sea.

The article “No passports for Indonesians?” (June 19) points out that some Indonesians have been issued travel documents rather than passports by their consulate and as a result have not been able to rectify their residency status since the Saudi authorities require expatriates to show their passports.
