RIYADH — A group of 366 Turkish Umrah pilgrims has departed from the Kingdom on Sunday morning via King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah, under supervision of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Sunday.

This stage is complementary to the ministry’s perpetual presence with the Umrah pilgrims throughout their presence inside the Medical Quarantine Unit to undergo tests by the Ministry of Health.

The laboratory test results have shown all the Umrah pilgrims to be free from novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Supervision of the Umrah pilgrims’ departure was through the Committee for Following up the Departure of Umrah Pilgrims Present in the Kingdom headed by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, and with the ministries of interior, foreign affairs, and health, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and KAIA Administration, as members.

The aim is to ensure the readiness of the operation sectors in the airport and Tasheel Company, and to complete travel procedures in line with the health criteria and standards that guarantee safety for all.

The ministry also secured hotels in Makkah and Jeddah to host the Umrah pilgrims during the period for providing accommodation, meals, and means of transport to the port of departure.

The ministry made sure all their needs were provided for until their safe departure to their countries. The ministry provided the Umrah pilgrims with gifts, in coordination with a third sector, the Society for Haj and Umrah Pilgrims’ Gifts in Makkah.
