KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait reported 12 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 142, state news agency KUNA reported on Wednesday citing the Ministry of Health official.

Eight of the new cases are linked to travel with the United Kingdom, and include two Kuwaiti nationals, an American, and a Spanish national, the official said, Al Arabiya English reported.

One new case was of a citizen who had traveled to Switzerland, while two other cases had direct contact with people who came to the country from the UK.

Addressing a daily press briefing, Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said that out of the 142 cases in total, 15 people have recovered and the remaining are still receiving treatment, the KUNA report added.
