JEDDAH — Movenpick Hotel Tahlia Jeddah by Accor Hotels has opened Rasoi by Vineet last Nov. 17 – a “Fun-dining” restaurant that serves world-class Indian fusion cuisine and managed by a Michelin star chef.

The hotel is located at the heart of Jeddah, Tahlia, on Hail Street, 30 minutes away from King Abdulaziz International Airport and within a walking distance to Jameel Square commercial building.

'Rasoi' means kitchen in Hindi and in here guests are welcomed with a delectable Michelin star level entry into the world of contemporary Indian cuisine. The balanced and sophisticated use of spices made way to traditional Indian cuisine with a modern twist. The dishes are from the years of hard work, pushing the boundaries and challenging his perception of native cuisine. Vineet describes his food as 'evolved' Indian food that never stops evolving.

Guests will get to taste many of the chef's signature dishes like the Nawabi Chops - lamb chops crusted with pistachio and rose petals, saffron mash, and Chicken Habibi, Chicken tikka with zataar and black olives - a true blend of Indian and Saudi cuisine; and the all-time favourite Choco-Mosa. His signature dishes define the concept of Fun Dining.

“Learning is something will never end, coming to a place like Jeddah, you will constantly be bombarded by things around you. You drive in the streets or Tahlia or you go down to the Corniche, or you go down to old market or the fish market, or certain parts, you will always find something that you’ll bring back, it’s in your mind and in your heart or how you want to use it. So inspiration is endless, it’s like a pot of gold” – Chef Vineet describing Jeddah through his encounters.

The new restaurant is operated by Chef Vineet Bhatia, Chef Bhatia is a Michelin star Chef and widely regarded as the chef of modern progressive Indian cuisine. He is shortlisted as 100 of the most powerful Indians in Gulf-Arabian Business Indian Power List 2010 by Business.com. Also regarded as one of the top 1000 most influential people in London by Everything Standard and shortlisted as Global Indians Top 100 by India Today.

“One of the trail-blazers in applying Indian techniques to ingredients that are rare or unknown in India is Vineet Bhatia” R.W Apple Jr. – New York Times.

Originally from Mumbai, Chef Vineet Bhatia moved to London and was disappointed to find out the representation of Indian cuisine in the place. Re-thinking Indian cuisine, he earned his Michelin star for the first time in 2001. Today, Chef Vineet Bhatia has a successful portfolio of restaurants located across the globe.

Among all this surge in entertainment, destinations & attractions in Jeddah, Rasoi By Vineet with all its glamour, famous guests, surprise shows & stars, will make sure that there’s no other place you would rather be. — SG
