SEF chief lauds govt support for sports

Prince Abdullah Bin Fahd Bin Abdullah, president of the Saudi Equestrian Federation, has expressed pride over the International Federation of Equestrian Sports (FEI) selection of Saudi Arabia as a host the FEI World Cup finals in 2024.

The FEI named Riyadh as the host city to hold competition in the world dressage and jumping.

Prince Abdullah stressed that this selection is an extension of the successes achieved by the Kingdom in hosting international championships and events at all levels, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

He further said: “The Kingdom’s hosting of this international gathering is the result of the support, and attention that the sports sector in general and the equestrian sector in particular is getting from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, aside from the follow up and attention by the Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal and his keenness for the Kingdom to compete to host the most prominent sports activities.”

Prince Abdullah said: “This world championship to be held for the first time in the Middle East region will begin from now, so as to reach the best preparations and to achieve full success for the championship, with the cumulative experience the sons of the Kingdom possess in hosting international events.”

He added that the selection of Saudi Arabia to host the 2024 FEI World Cup Finals is due to the Kingdom’s fulfilling all the criteria for hosting the important world event.
