80 percent of Riyadh Season’s goals achieved in first 10 days

RIYADH – Turki Al-Asheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced on Friday that 80 percent of the goals aimed to be achieved at the end of Riyadh Season was achieved in just 10 days since the launch of the Season, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Friday.

Al-Asheikh expressed his thanks and appreciation to Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for his support, vision and directives that have contributed to this success, after success granted by Allah Almighty.

Riyadh Season, which kicked off on Oct. 11 is the biggest season in the Kingdom, as it provides its visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad events at 12 locations in different districts of the capital, Riyadh. It is scheduled to continue until Dec. 15. –

More than three million people visited the Riyadh Season festival during the first 10 days after its opening on Oct. 11, according to Al-Asheikh.

“Around 8.3 million tickets have already been sold in only five locations of the season that have opened so far.

The number of tourist visas issued for the season reached 1,500,” he said during an inspection tour of the Riyadh Season Boulevard after its re-opening in a new look.

He was briefed on the new arrangements and facilities, and also received feedback from some of the visitors.

The Riyadh Season continued to witness record numbers in terms of the number of visitors, as well as the number of events and amount of revenues.

Visitors to the Riyadh Season are eagerly anticipating the launch of seven more locations in the season as per the GEA plan so that there will be six main locations and six branch locations for the largest ever season festival taking place in the Riyadh region as a whole. — SG/SPA
