Shoura chief leads Saudi team to IPU Serbia meet

RIYADH –
Speaker of the Shoura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Al-Asheikh is leading the delegation participating in the meetings of the 141st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the meetings of the 205th session of the IPU Governing Council, in Belgrade, Serbia under the theme: "Strengthening international law: Parliamentary roles and mechanisms and contribution to regional cooperation", with participation of more than 1,700 parliamentarians.

In a press statement, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh reaffirmed the keenness of the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to, effectively take part in the international and regional parliamentary forums, to reflect the Kingdom's position and its important role in achieving security, peace and stability in the region and the world, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

The Shoura Council delegation will participate in the coordination meetings of the Arab and Islamic groups in the IPU to coordinate and formulate positions on the issues on the agenda, and to consider several emergency issues that need to be addressed.

On the other hand, Secretary General of the Shoura Council Muhammad Bin Dakhil Al-Mutairi, is to participate in the deliberations of the meeting of the General Secretariat of the IPU council, which will be held on the sidelines of these meetings.
